If you are seeking help with managing your weight or to achieve those long term health goals you may know how frustrating it can be to go on a diet, lose some initial weight and then slowly see that weight return. Possibly gaining more. Some of the clients who come to me have been stuck in a cycle of feast and famine for most of their adult lives.
You may want to stop eating chocolate, crisps or highly processed snacks and you know how exhausting a battle it can be. Stuck in a cycle of reward and recrimination.
Our eating habits can be fuelled by our emotions. Emotional eating may be in times of boredom, unhappiness, stress, anger or as a reward or from historic family habits. We may drink a little too much, a little too often or snack constantly on high fat or sugar full ultra processed foods. We may snack on chocolate or crisps, even though we have eaten a meal and feel full. It can feel like a part of us is making these decisions when we had no conscious intention of eating more than we wanted to. We might pass a kitchen cupboard and feel an irresistible urge to devour all the sweet ultra processed ‘ treats ‘ inside it. It is exhausting to be caught in this cycle which can be accompanied by feelings of guilt and shame and disappointment.
Hypnotherapy for weight management can be marketed under many guises ; hypnoband or the hypno-jab but essentially we are using the power of the unconscious to reprogram and reset how we consume food in a more mindful way. We may find that our appetite reduces, we have longer gaps between eating and we feel full quicker or that ultra processed foods are no longer so appealing.
We work together in a relaxing way to create a healthier relationship with food and address any disordered patterns that may have caused unwanted weight gain or be affecting your long term health. As well as becoming a healthier weight, most clients gain energy, a sense of greater self-esteem and ultimately change their relationship with food.
A few of the many food issues we can address:
Yo-yo dieting
Over-eating and binge eating
Snacking
Sweet tooth
Food addictions
Exercise motivation
How do you treat food issues and how long will it take?
Very often a particular food issue can begin to be treated in just one session but for longer term weight loss, food management clients may want to come back for a few sessions to build on their progress and keep the positive momentum going.
In your consultation, we'll talk about what you want to address and then use a combination of techniques to help you resolve it.
I have offer a package of three sessions for Weight Loss that can have the best results for some clients.
